Its story begins in the Art Deco years, when design stood for luxury, glamour and exuberance. Here that spirit settles into strict symmetry, each circle cut by hand so the pattern reads evenly from every side of the octagon.
The house behind it has far older roots. In 1767 King Louis XV chose it as his Royal Glassworks in Lorraine, and it went on to become the first maker in continental Europe to produce crystal. This bucket's French crystal is thick, and its facets are crisp at every edge.
Light moves through the clear walls and deepens in each cut, so the pattern seems to shift with every step around it. Signed "St. Louis" in cursive script, it is as much at home holding champagne on ice as it is filled with an armful of flowers.
